Mother
By Katy Cotter
Terese loved train stations. She’d get high, put her stolen sunglasses on, then sit and watch people come and go. She’d make up scenarios in her head about where they were going, what their lives were like, and who they loved. Anything to distract her from her own life. She was 26 years young and felt like a fossil. One moment when she was thirteen changed everything. Her train jumped off the track.
We all have turning points in our lives. Moments that forever change us. Sometimes we fight against them, and others we surrender.
Terese can’t live with her secret any longer. It’s time to tell the truth. She needs to feel you’re really paying attention… Will you listen?
